I have finally got round to posting my thoughts on the launch day!
I really enjoyed the day and I met some lovely people that I would love to stay in touch with. It was great to hear other people’s perspectives of how APPCIOS could move forward and it was useful to be involved in the process.
I am currently involved, albeit in a small way, in promoting psychodynamic practice in the workplace and it was lovely to hear how this had worked for other people in different situations.
I look forward to finding out more about APPCIOS and how I go about becoming a trainee member.
I’m Claudia. I am currently training to be a psychodynamic counsellor at the University of Leicester, studying for an MA in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have worked in residential and educational settings with children experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties. I worked as a residential social worker for the National Autistic Society, in the Special Needs department of a Secondary School and in the Nurture Room in a Primary School and am a qualified Secondary English teacher.
I currently work as a support worker at Rushden Mind and am very interested in psychodynamic practice in organisational settings.
I am very much looking forward to the APPCIOS launch day tomorrow.
